I’ve spent many a night laying in bed going over my life in my head and I’ve come to realise something. If you look at what you have in life, you'll always have more. If you look at what you don't have in life, you'll never have enough.
When life gets too much, you need to always focus on your outcome. “In-action” breeds fear and doubt, and “taking action” breeds confidence and courage. So what that means is, that when you start taking action, you lose yourself in the process of taking action in doing whatever you do on a daily basis. You need to focus on what can I do right now in the present moment to move my life forward. So when you’re having the worst day and you feel like your life is over and it’s horrible and it’s never going to get any better, and it doesn’t seem like there is any light at the end of the tunnel, you just got to say “what do I have to get done today before I go to bed tonight? to be the most productive I can be?” And you just got to lose yourself in the process of taking those actions and focusing on those little things, and by burying yourself and putting your head down and ploughing forward and getting those little things that you know you need to get done before you go to bed at night, then at the end of the night when you come to put your head on your pillow, you’ve been busy all day! You feel productive. Because success is making progress. And so if you’ve felt like you’ve made progress at the end of the day because you got a lot of things done that were productive and important things, you’re going to feel like you’re making progress, and if you feel like you’re making progress and that you are successful, you’re going to be happy, because being happy is feeling like you’re making progress and that you are successful. You see your life changing as a result of your actions. It’s slowly starting to move in that direction, you keep driving forward, because if you stop and you start to look at the mountain - the proception of how to go from where you are right now to where you want to be someday, then you’ll get overwhelmed, and then when you feel overwhelmed you kinda just want to hide under your bed and just hope life kinda passes you by. But!!! You can’t run from your problems. You have to participate in your own rescue. The only person coming to save you is YOU! You are a result of your action or in-action. There are so many vicious circles out there - prime example is ”I eat so much because I’m depressed and I’m depressed because I eat so much.” But here is a positive circle. ”My productivity keeps me happy and my happiness keeps me productive.” Staying busy and getting shit done, taking action, feels good! And ya can’t feel crappy if you feel good.
We always focus on the negative circles, but to every negative there is always a positive. The light is always there in the darkness, you just need to find the switch!
